Let’s pretend for a minute that you’re in a garden.
No matter what you plant in this garden, it will thrive due to the abundance of nutrients in the soil. There’s sunshine and showers, so you can relax.
Basically anything can be planted. The sky is the limit.
Roses and poison ivy are both viable options for landscaping. If you want to plant something, you can either plant tomatoes or deadly nightshade. Seeds of effort will germinate into mature fruits of labor.
Your thoughts are the seeds you can plant in this mental garden.
The seeds you plant in your mind will eventually bear fruit, and those fruits will make up the sum total of your life.
Or, to paraphrase an old Bible passage from Proverbs 23:7:
One’s character can be said to be reflective of his or her inner thoughts.
Your beliefs and ideas shape the world around you.
Whatever kind of life you’ve created for yourself is just a reflection of the thoughts you’ve nurtured in your mind. In response, these ideas materialized into actions. The outcomes of those actions are now apparent.
No matter how discouraging or unfair it may sound, you are where you are because this is where you truly desired to be.
This is a timeless spiritual law that has existed since the beginning of time. One of the most well-known, too. Perhaps you’re familiar with it under a different name.
What you focus on expands into reality.
And this is something that is shared by all major religions around the globe.
Hinduism, Christianity, and most other world religions all have their own versions of this. It’s a part of every religion, including the Chinese one. It’s a universal law, just like gravity. For thousands of years before the invention of writing, wise people have known that our thoughts create our world.
That’s because it’s effective on two fronts.
As a first point, you should know that your faith has a quantum connection to the cosmos. What we believe most strongly in is what we bring into being.
But let me clarify something.
Believe what you want to, but it won’t manifest in your life. What’s truly important to you is what comes to fruition. No matter what you say, you’ll continue to get what you believe in if you believe that you deserve to be unhappy and in pain.
Many people’s inner monologue is constantly negative and destructive, but they insist their thoughts are positive.
There’s no way to silence that one. Perhaps many people’s disappointment with LoA can be attributed to their misguided efforts to cultivate trees of prosperity and success from seeds of doubt, pain, and suffering.
This is not how it functions.
What’s truly important to you is what you receive. The cosmos will make it so. But the truth is what you feel, and we can’t always know what that is.
Nothing in life ever works out the way you plan.
When you ask for something, life gives it to you.
Many people wish for prosperity, happiness, and health, but their minds are filled with thoughts of lack, misery, and despair instead. Given that this is what they are sowing, it follows that this is what will grow.
In a second point, your beliefs are the product of your own thoughts.
What you believe drives what you do.
Things happen because of what you do.
You will end up where your actions take you.
What you tell yourself on a subconscious level will have a profound impact on your conscious behavior. The beliefs you’ve come to hold are directly responsible for shaping your identity.
Understanding this is challenging.
On the same plane as breathing, if you will.
Only by focusing on the present moment can one become aware of the act of breathing. Only by dissecting your actions can you understand how and why you act the way you do. But you are made up entirely of the ideas you have allowed to take root in your mind and grow over time.
This means that the fruits of one’s labor are directly proportional to the quality of the thought that yields them.
Planting love and joy will cause your actions to be reflective of that love and will lead to increased joy in your life and the lives of those around you.
Thinking positively about money and success will lead to more success and wealth for you and the world.
Imagine yourself in the role of the pilot. A plane can hold hundreds of people and weighs tens of tons. However, there are only one or two pilots controlling this massive machine from the cockpit.
Your life is similar.
If you can change just a few thoughts, you can change your entire life, even if your behavior seems infinitely complex.
What you put into it will come to fruition in the form of the things you manifest, and it will also shape your behavior to bring about the outcomes you seek.
Both have their merits.
Everything in this world has an equal chance of succeeding or failing.
It’s up to you to take advantage of the opportunities the universe is offering right now. It is still your responsibility to answer the door if fortune comes knocking.
Like in this really old joke.
A storm has him stranded as a fisherman. He’s in a sinking boat. Worshiping God in his desperation is his last resort.
Saying something along the lines of “God, please save me, I’ll be good, I’ll repent, just save me”
Soon after, a boat comes into view.
He approaches him and asks, “Hello, do you need any help?” (Good Samaritan).
‘No, no, God will save me,’ the fisherman replies.
The rescuer is baffled and walks away.
The exact same things occur again after waiting ten minutes. We suddenly see another boat. They provide assistance to him. The fisherman declines, claiming that he has the support of God.
The ship goes down, he drowns, and he goes to heaven. There, staring God in the eye, he prays to him, “Why?”
“Oh God, why did you abandon me to my death? I beseeched you in prayer, and I vowed then and there to turn away from my evil ways.
In response, God asks, “What are you talking about?” Please find the two boats I’ve sent you.
This is a joke, but in some ways it’s also true.
We create openings for you, but it’s up to you to make the most of them. Having the intention to close a large deal as a real estate agent will bring about just that. Everything necessary for this to occur will fall into place as if by magic.
However, you shouldn’t expect to be able to sit in your living room and have these encounters materialize before your eyes. You still need to take some kind of action.
Maybe you’re looking for the one and only.
By thinking loving and appreciative thoughts, you can attract your perfect companion, but they won’t come knocking on your door.
If you look at the universe as a tree, you’ll notice that it’s laden with all the goodies you could possibly want.
And the first step in that direction is changing your mind and shifting your outlook.
Start now on a path of filling your mind with good things. Create a pact with yourself to think only positive thoughts, like those of love, joy, and success.
It’s going to be tough at first.
It will take some time to remove all the poison from your mind if that’s all you’ve ever done before. But when you do, you’ll see a miraculous transformation. Eventually, the right opportunities will present themselves to you. There will be times when you are exactly where you need to be to achieve your goals.
